In this beautiful lake tourists are welcomed warmly and to have a sight of boulevard there are shikara rides, one can have a ride on shikara and visit the floating market to buy things and to move towards houseboats.

If one is ever visiting this beautiful Lake, than staying in houseboat is a lifetime experience. People who love nature must have a stay in these attractive houseboats which are on the lake. The hospitality provided there is so relaxing that you would forget the living of pacca houses. These boats are made of wood and inside these boats there would be kitchen as well, you can avail the houseboat according to your needs.
Floating Gardens:
During the time of July and August when flower blooms, this lake is turned into floating garden. This lake is an important source of Lotus flower and lotus stems. In Kashmiri, this floating garden is known as ‘Rad’. This lake is composed with matted vegetation and vegetation growing there is been cut off from the bottom of the lake. Vegetables and fruits such as melons, tomatoes, cucumber etc grows in this lake and if someone have a sight of this lake during this time from underneath it seems that they are floating on the lake.

Attractions Around Dal Lake :
There are many places around Dal Lake like Mughal Garden, Nishat Bagh, Shankracharya temple etc. A round around the Dal by road makes it pleasing and relaxing. The sight of Dal during sunset is so mesmerizing and the sight during night with lights around the lake makes it look like a heaven. The rays of sun during sunset on the Shankracharya hills gives a mind-blowing landscape.
Our Review :
When we went to Dal for the first time, we were all speechless to see the breathtaking view of sunset that we never ever came across before. The market was all crowded by many tourists and road was clear so we had a complete round around the Dal by road. The next day we went to have a shikara ride, it was so relaxing and bought many things from floating market. We had a beautiful time there and would soon visit again.
